Grand Mercure Shanghai Hongqiao Hotel, Shanghai

My stay on the 12th floor was good, but the hotel is in urgent need of renovation. The rooms feel more like a decent apartment than a hotel. The main door is hard to close, the bathroom door gets stuck, the carpet is old and dirty, and the bathroom is very outdated.

The hotel is conveniently located near Hongqiao Airport and downtown, offering a good location for both business and leisure travelers. The service was a bit mixed with accommodating and kind staff but some issues with language and check-in experience. The dining options were average, falling below expectations for a 4-star hotel. The facilities were decent, but the rooms had some drawbacks like a strange odor and inaccessible balcony.

I had a great stay at this hotel! The rooms were spacious, with the added convenience of a washing machine in a very convenient location. The pantry and washing machine were a nice touch, making it easy to feel at home.

If you're a vegetarian and appreciate having cooking facilities in your room, this hotel with studio-like rooms is a good choice. The rooms were surprisingly large, offering great value for money, although some could use a bit of re-decoration.

The hotel rooms were absolutely stunning, spacious, and very large. The service was accommodating, helping with Chinese addresses and transferring to a quieter room. The location offers many choices but is quite far from downtown. The dining experience was amazing with open kitchen and fresh food, although slightly below average in variety. The facilities were up to standard.
